More Code, More Golf, More Dog Shot
It’s been another busy one at Dog Shot Golf HQ — and for once, it’s not just me talking about plans. More code is actually making its way into the game!
The latest development work is coming together nicely, with new modules now live in the Dog Shot Golf game. The game is starting to feel more and more like the thing we’ve always wanted it to be — something you can actually take out, play with your mates, and have a proper laugh with.
And we’re getting to the point where there’s a lot more you can actually do with it.
Stag trips, stag days and golf tours are now live, with the society day module nearly finished. That’s a pretty exciting step because Dog Shot Golf is starting to move beyond just being something you play with your mates on a normal round.
Whether you’re organising a stag weekend, a golf tour or a society day, there’s now a way to bring a bit of Dog Shot chaos along with you.
The New Hats Have Landed
The latest batch of caps has arrived too, and they’re looking bloody good.
We’ve also been working on customisable stag day and stag trip hats, which are coming together really nicely. There’s something about having a group of golfers all wearing ridiculous matching hats that just feels right.
Especially when you know half of them are going to spend the day looking for their golf balls.
Putting In The Handicaps
I also managed to get a round in with Dude and Cheese, which was partly golf and partly putting the numbers together for their handicaps.
It’s always useful getting real rounds played while we’re working on the Dog Shot system. You can write as much code as you like, but eventually you have to get it out onto an actual golf course and see what happens when the wheels inevitably come off.
And speaking of wheels coming off…
Coochie Loses His Fourth Ball
I played another round of Dog Shot Golf with Coochie and Barnza.
Coochie ended up buying the round because he lost, which was obviously a result — but the real highlight came later when he managed to lose his FOURTH BALL.
On the same hole.
At that point, there was nothing else to do but cheer.
This is exactly why we love the Dog Shot Golf game.
Nobody was pretending it was a serious competition. Nobody was getting angry about a bad shot. We were just standing there watching a grown man somehow work his way through four golf balls on a single hole and absolutely loving it.
Bad shots. Good mates. Great days.
That’s the whole point.
More Code, More Stuff, More Golf
There’s still loads happening behind the scenes. More code is coming, more modules are being built, and we’re getting closer to having the full Dog Shot experience working across all the different ways people actually play golf.
The society day module is nearly there, and there’s plenty more development work coming after that.
And, of course, the Greensomes League finishes this week.
So there’s still time for one last push, one last attempt at glory, and probably one last opportunity to blame your partner.
All in all, though?
Loving life.
The game is growing, the hats are looking good, the code is coming together, and most importantly, we’re actually getting out there and playing the bloody thing.
What more could you want?
