These terms
By using our website, our app, or anything you've bought from us, you're agreeing to these terms. If you don't agree with them, don't use it — that's the whole mechanism.
Nothing here takes away your legal rights as a consumer. Where these terms and the law disagree, the law wins.
What we sell
- Merch — caps, hats, clothing and the rest.
- Real Round Lite — the free game. Full round, no account needed. Nothing is kept afterwards.
- Dog Shot Golf Club — a paid membership. Profiles, badges, friends, leaderboards, stored history and AI round recaps.
- Passes — the Trip Pass, and the Society Day Pass when it arrives. Software you use on a trip or a golf day somebody else has organised.
We do not organise, book or run golf trips. We don't book tee times, transport or accommodation, we're not a travel agent and we're not a tour operator. We make the software you use once you've arranged all that yourself.
Current prices are on the product pages. All prices are in pounds sterling. We are not VAT registered, so no VAT is charged.
Your account
Accounts are handled by Shopify. Keep your login to yourself — anything done through your account is treated as done by you.
One account per person. Don't pretend to be somebody else, and don't set up an account for someone who doesn't want one.
You must be 18 or over to use our services.
Behaving yourself
Play daft, don't be a dick. Specifically, don't:
- harass, bully or abuse anyone through the app
- upload photos, nicknames or titles that are obscene, hateful, or somebody else's to give
- put another person's details in without them being happy about it
- try to break, overload, scrape or reverse-engineer any of it
- use it for anything illegal
We can suspend or close an account that's being used this way. If we do it and you think we've got it wrong, email us and we'll look again.
If you're organising
Running a trip or a golf day means you're handling other people's information and, frankly, other people.
Only add someone if they're happy to be added. You're telling us you have their agreement to give us their name, nickname, phone number and pronoun. If someone wants out, take them out — or tell us and we will.
Your group is your responsibility. We provide a scoreboard. We're not there, we don't know what's happening, and we can't be responsible for the conduct, safety or wellbeing of the people on your trip. That sits with you and with them.
The fines, the forfeits and the drinking
Read this bit properly.
The fines are a joke. They're written to be funny. They are not instructions, they're not a challenge, and they're not something anybody has agreed to on your behalf.
Nobody has to do anything. Not a shot, not a pint, not a forfeit, not a dare. "No" is a complete answer and it doesn't need a reason. An organiser who pushes someone into a forfeit is doing something we neither asked for nor endorse.
Never drink and drive. Not a mouthful, not "just one", not on the way home from the course. If drink is involved in your day, sort out how everyone gets home before it starts.
Know your limits, and your mates'. If someone's had enough, they've had enough. Don't top up someone who's struggling, and if anyone's in a bad way, look after them and get help if it's needed.
Don't play if you shouldn't drink — because of your age, your health, your medication, or because you've chosen not to. The game works perfectly well with a forfeit that isn't a drink, and we'd rather you played than sat it out.
We aren't responsible for what you choose to do. We write jokes about golf. What anyone actually does on the day is on them and, where they're organising, on the organiser.
Passes
A pass covers one trip or one golf day, for the number of days and players shown when you buy it.
A pass has a start button, and pressing it matters. Activating a pass starts it supplying immediately, which ends your 14-day right to cancel, and where a pass has a validity period that period starts then. We'll tell you this clearly on screen before you press it. Once activated, a pass isn't refundable — see our returns policy.
Passes aren't transferable and can't be exchanged for cash.
Club membership
Membership renews automatically until you cancel — monthly plans monthly, annual plans annually. Cancel any time, from your account or by emailing us; cancelling stops the next payment and you keep access until the period you've paid for runs out.
Any AI recaps or other allowances included with membership are an allowance for the period, not a balance you build up, and they can only be used while your membership is active.
If we change the price, we'll tell you before it takes effect and you can cancel.
The free game
Real Round Lite is free, and free things come with fewer promises. We may change it, limit it or withdraw it. Nothing from a Lite round is stored, so don't rely on it being there afterwards — that's what the Club is for.
What you put in
Your photos, nicknames, scores and the rest stay yours. You're giving us permission to store and display them so the thing works — showing your avatar to your mates, putting your name in a trip write-up, and so on.
Only upload what you've got the right to upload.
What the AI writes
Recaps, write-ups, titles and speeches are generated automatically. They're jokes, generated from your scores, and they can be wrong, repetitive or strange. They are not a judgement about you, not a factual record, and we don't promise they'll be any good.
If something generated about you is offensive or you'd rather it didn't exist, tell us and we'll remove it.
Courses and clubs
Course names and locations come from public map data and may be wrong or out of date. We aren't affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any golf club, course or society that appears in the app.
Orders
An order isn't accepted until we confirm it. If something is priced wrongly or is out of stock, we may cancel and refund you in full — we won't take your money and quietly do nothing.
Delivery is covered by our shipping policy, returns by our returns policy. Both form part of these terms.
When things go wrong
We do our best, but we're not promising the site or the app will always be available, always be error-free, or never lose anything. We may change or withdraw features.
Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law says we can't limit — including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Beyond that, and because we're a small business selling small things, our responsibility to you is limited to what you paid us for whatever went wrong. We're not liable for things we couldn't reasonably have foreseen, for lost profit, or for anything that happens on a golf course.
Ending it
You can stop using it and close your account whenever you like.
We can suspend or end your access if you break these terms. If you've paid for something you then can't use because of that, get in touch and we'll deal with it fairly.
Changes
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we'll tell you. Carrying on using the service after a change means you accept it.
The legal bits
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction — though if you live elsewhere in the UK you can bring proceedings in your own country's courts.
If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands.
Complaints
Email dogshotgolf@gmail.com. We'd much rather hear it from you than read it somewhere else.
